Fraud detection and identity

I look at how your systems judge a customer, a payment, an invoice and a job applicant. Where they let too much through, where they stop honest people, and what actually happens when something looks wrong - whether it reaches anyone who can hold it.

Call me when

  • Accounting paid an invoice from a regular supplier who this time gave a different account number
  • Something is going missing - stock, money, or both - and it only surfaces at the annual count
  • You hired someone nobody checked, and they have keys to the warehouse and a login

Security and data protection

I map where your data actually sits - in the system, in spreadsheets, at suppliers, on somebody’s laptop - and who can open it. You get a list of things to close, worst first.

Call me when

  • Someone left six months ago and still has their mailbox and their drive
  • The company that installed your system still has remote access to the database
  • Reception can open every patient file when they only need today’s appointments

AI in regulated processes

Which of your AI uses carry real risk, what gets written down when one of them scores a person, and whether whoever signs off on the result can still say no. These are the questions an inspector asks under the AI Act and Article 22 of the GDPR.

Call me when

  • A supplier added AI to your system and nobody on your side ever approved it
  • The system turns down candidates or customers and you cannot put the reason in writing
  • On paper a person approves the decision; in practice they click a button

Audit

Two to three weeks on what you already run: the rules, the integrations, who has access, where the data goes. You get one list of changes, worst first, written so it can go to the board and to the team on the same day.

Call me when

  • You have a date - an inspection, a customer audit, a go-live - and want to know what is missing
  • A customer or an insurer has started asking about NIS2
  • You want a straight answer from someone who is not also selling you licences

Fractional CTO

Two to four days a month as the technical person on your side of the table. I read what your team and your suppliers propose, say what it will cost you later, and stay long enough for the decisions to hold. I have nothing to sell you alongside it.
